My New Blister Fix

In most American cities the primary mode of transportation is driving (a private car)…which leads to less walking. BUT living in a foreign country I’ve learned to walk most places. Even when on vacation (exploring all around a new city) I often walk vs. taking a taxi (you see more sights). When your primary mode of transportation becomes your feet, you realize that most shoes cause some sort of irritation – that leads to blisters. That’s how I learned about blister pads – a true life saver to any on foot commuter!

Last week I went to Rome – it was AMAZING! And as discussed yesterday, I will be sharing my travels in Rome all week long. The guides are broken down into 3 areas of travel – Ancient Ruins in Rome, Sights to See in Rome, Religion in Rome. While they can help you plan for what to do in Rome they don’t have much “behind the scenes” info. So today I wanted to share more general Rome Travel Tips….where to stay, food to try, what to wear, & getting around.

A few weeks ago I shared an outfit where I wore a Gingham Wrap Skirt. I mentioned that the skirt was created from an oversized gingham shirt. Whether you liked this style trick or not you have to admit it’s a quick way to diversify your wardrobe. You get 2 styles in 1 shirt, adding more variety to your wardrobe without costing a penny! Obviously (for that reason alone) I recommend trying this at least once. Which is why today I’m sharing my wrap skirt style trick.

Eat Your Way Around the World

One of my favorite parts about traveling is EATING…I know this sounds weird, but trying new foods is AMAZING. I wasn’t always this way – while I was never a “picky” eater I definitely didn’t really like to try anything new. Luckily traveling (and Caleb) have changed that, and boy, am I glad! Opening myself up to new foods has allowed me to eat some of the most AMAZING dishes (coincidentally now also some of my favorites)! Now everywhere I go I try to eat an “exotic” and new dish – preferably something native to the country. AND today I want to share with these must-try international foods!
