Hello! My name is Meghan Leigh, and I am the creator of A (Blank) Space. I am originally from Sacramento, CA but for the past 6 years have been living in Tucson, AZ. I went to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona (Bear Down!), where I studied Physiology and graduated in 2014. It was through my part-time job in college that I found my true passion: Fashion, Clothing, and most of all Styling! I worked for Express and eventually became a Visual Merchandiser for a store in Phoenix (after graduation). You might ask, what brings you to blogging? Well, I started to dream of being a stylist, but I wasn’t sure how to get there. So for the past two years had been trying to figure out a path for me to achieve my dream.
Then…in January of 2015 I met the man of my dreams, my boyfriend Caleb (who is the real reason behind this blog). He is a professor at the University of Arizona (I know how that sounds, but he got the job after I had already been out of school). In January of 2016 he was invited by Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany to come and conduct research on a yearlong fellowship and asked me to come along with him.
This meant leaving my job…which was the only un-thrilling part of that offer (who wouldn’t want to move to Europe for a year and travel). In our discussion of what my life abroad would be, he suggested I start a fashion blog. At first I wasn’t so keen on the idea. It wasn’t exactly what I’d dreamt of (I like working in an office/team atmosphere). But this was my chance. I could finally follow my dream of styling, albeit in a different way than I had ever thought. So here we are…I am writing a blog!
