Let’s talk about Mom Jeans for a second. Yesterday I shared my list of GREAT light wash denim to be a staple in your spring wardrobe.  And on that list was this pair of mom jeans from Pimkie! While I am falling in LOVE with these that doesn’t mean I’m advocating for the wearing of this trend denim.

Here’s the thing about mom jeans – they look awesome and uber cool on models but don’t quite translate to ANY other body type! Am I right?!? They have this weird cut through the hip – quintessentially momish – that accentuates the body in a not so great way (unless you have twig hips). As far as trending jeans go I would take a vintage pair of Levi’s over mom jeans any day. So what makes this pair the exception? The FIT! They’re cut like a straight leg jean that’s been tailored specifically to my legs – in other words perfectly!

As if that wasn’t enough – they are the perfect material (thick, structured, classic) and the light wash is awesome! So am I advocating mom jeans? The answer is no, not exactly. BUT if you find a pair of denim that fits as well as these, DON’T pass them up, no matter what the tag says! Because finding a great fit off the rack is pretty AMAZING.

For today I paired my mom jeans with a rock band graphic tee – just in case I was looking momish – and a long hem cardigan to fight that nip in the air. To keep with the comfy casual look I wore my favorite white sneakers. And added some extra edge with fun layered necklaces. This outfit was perfect for a sunny afternoon spent playing in the park!
